Product Specification

NYY unarmoured 1kV power single or multicore cables have an especially tough sheath and are designed for fixed power and control use, primarily in industrial applications. Also known as NYY-J (including earth) and NYY-O (without earth) they can be used as an alternative to the old Delta Hi-tuf cables. 

Suitable for installation indoors, outdoors, in ducts, in water or underground where armour is not required.

 

Construction – NYY unarmoured 1kV power
solid or stranded plain copper conductors
polyvinylchloride (PVC) core insulation
cores twisted concentrically (in multicores only)
filling compound over the core assembly
black hardened PVC outer sheath

 

Technical – NYY unarmoured 1kV power
conductor make-up: class 1 (solid) or class 2 (non-flexible stranded)

bend radius: single core = 15 x overall diameter
multicore = 12 x overall diameter
voltage rating: 600/1000V operating , 4000V test
current rating: as per NYY and NYCY chart, see Current Ratings page
temperature range: +5°C to +50°C flexible, -30°C to +70°C static
construction: generally to DIN VDE 0276 part 604
flame retardant: according to IEC 60332
core identification: single core = black or green/yellow inner insulation
2 cores = coloured to VDE 0293 without earth, see Colour Codes page
3 to 5 cores = coloured to VDE 0293 with earth (inc. in core count)
6+ cores = numbered black cores with earth (inc. in core count)
