These rubber or polyurethane sheathed cables are suitable for use in a wide variety of applications and environments. Rubber and PUR compounds generally surpass PVC (polyvinylchloride) compounds in flexibility and durability.
Polyurethane (PUR) is inflammable and UV resistant with excellent abrasion and tear resistance. Good resistance to water and mineral oils, especially to coolant emulsions.
Rubber properties vary dependent on type but generally these compounds have good or excellent resistance to water, acids, alkalis, salts and abrasion.
The term HOFR (Heat resistant – Oil resistant – Flame retardant – Rubber) applies to tougher cables such as Extreme H07RN-F, 380-P, H01N2-D and 0361TQ which are suitable for heavy duty and higher temperature applications.
